The Provo School district is committed to state-of-the-art use of technology. The district has invested significant resources into the acquisition of technology equipment, as well as helping teachers learn how to use it.  As a result, the students at Spring Creek get an exceptional experience in learning how to use technology.

Changes in Technology

The use of technology continues to grow at Spring Creek. All classrooms now have interactive white boards on which teachers can present lessons, show video clips and demonstrate concepts to students. Students also study material by looking things up on the Internet and creating multimedia presentations to show what they have learned.

In addition to the daily use of technology for learning and teachiing, much assessment is now conducted on computers. This enables teachers to study reports about testing to determine what students have learned, what needs to be retaught, and which students might need enrichment.

Pearson Online Math- Your child has a login to get into their own account.  There is a Parents' link at the top of the student page that allows you to see results of the work your child has done online.

Treasures- Students can access stories and activities to help them improve their reading skills.

A sixth grade eMints classroom.eMints

Spring Creek will soon have 8 eMints classrooms, with 15 desktop computers in each.  eMints is a system of instruction that was originally developed in Missouri and is rapidly being adopted around the country.  eMints combines educational practices that research has shown to be effective along with a strong emphasis on the use of technology.  With 15 computers available to students, all day, every day, students have a much greater opportunity to do their work on the computer.  Students thus work cooperatively on projects, both on the computer, and with more traditional materials.  Projects emphasize student research on all aspects of a topic in depth and creation of a product that has some kind of application or relevance beyond the classroom.
