Literacy: Review Week - Unit 4
Comprehension Strategy: Comprehension by Summarizing & Making Inferences
Phonemic Awareness: Phoneme Identifying, Blending, Segmenting, Deleting, Substituting, & Rhyming
Phonics: Long e with silent e, two ee's together, and two vowels ea together.
Grammar: Recognizing when to use the present tense verbs see, says, say and past tense verbs such as said & saw .
High-Frequency Words: kind, knew, house, friends, far, by
Vocabulary: curious - eager to learn about things that are new, strange, or interesting. idea - a picture or thought formed in the mind. summarize - telling what a story is about in a few sentences. make inferences - Use clues to figure out information that isn't stated.
Writing: Essay Format - Title, Beginning Sentence, 3 Middle Sentences, & A Closing Sentence That Shows Feeling. This week we are writing about how we help our earth, community, or school. Additional Work: Writing to show voice, sentence fluency, and increase imagery through vocabulary.
Numeracy: Chapter 7 - Geometry - 2-D & 3-D Shapes, Measurement - Capacity, Weight, Length.
